Pufferio

Frequently asked questions

Pufferio player guide

Does Pufferio work offline?

Yes. With no connection the game plays full rounds against bots: every arena, every mode, and everything you have earned or bought stays available once the app has seen it. Points and progress bank locally and sync when you are back online. Online matches against other players need a connection, for the obvious reason.

Do I need an account?

No. The game starts playable as a guest: no name, no email, no sign-up. Signing in does one job: cloud save, so your progress, purchases and cosmetics follow you to another device or survive a lost phone.

Can I play on a computer?

Yes, www.pufferio.app in a desktop browser is the same game. Signed in, your progress moves between phone and browser.

Are the rounds real multiplayer?

Quick match connects you with other players online; bots fill any seats people leave empty, so a round never waits for a lobby. Private rooms work differently, and cleverly: the seven-character code deterministically generates the identical round for everyone who enters it, so results are directly comparable. See private rooms.

What do purchases buy?

Cosmetics (skins, eye sets, auras), point packs, and a one-time remove-ads purchase. Nothing purchasable affects gameplay, a paid skin bumps exactly as hard as a free one.

I reinstalled, where are my purchases?

Sign in with the same account and use Restore purchases in the points screen. Store purchases are tied to your Apple or Google account, so they survive reinstalls.

What about ads, and is it safe for kids?

The mobile apps show an occasional short ad between rounds and an optional rewarded ad that doubles a round’s points, always your choice. Ads are configured as child-appropriate through Google’s families-compliant settings, the game has no chat, and private rooms show no ads at all. The remove-ads purchase makes the apps permanently ad-free. This website shows ads via Google AdSense on its information pages.

Which languages does it speak?

Seven: English, Hebrew, Russian, French, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese, chosen automatically from your device language, switchable in Settings. Right-to-left languages get a properly mirrored layout, controls included.

Why is my phone warm?

Pufferio runs a full physics simulation at high frame rates. It automatically lowers rendering quality on weaker devices, and rounds are short by design. But yes, it works your phone harder than a crossword.

Something broke. Who do I tell?

Write to omri@dicori.co.il: bug reports go straight to the developer, and fixes usually ship within days via over-the-air updates (no store update needed).
